Women’s Soaring Pilots Association 48th Seminar

Soaring Club of Houston, TX

The Soaring Club of Houston (SCOH) is located NW of Houston, TX approximately 9 miles North of Waller, TX.

The club owns their 80-acre airport (89TA) with grass runways and a nice clubhouse. They have EIGHT Club gliders: two 2-33’s, one L-23, two ASK-21’s, one L-33, and two LS-3 project gliders. The club owns FOUR tow planes. The club has a very active training program with many youth.

The size of their RV Park was doubled in 2021 for future contests. SCOH has an excellent year-long cross-country (XC) “race” series which has generated lots of XC enthusiasm among club members – contact Tony Smolder tsmolder@att.net for more info if interested. SCOH normally hosts an SSA sanctioned contest each year. www.scoh.org

  • Networking Opportunities– Building new relationships and meeting new friends is important to your growth as a pilot. Relationships can help you gain knowledge from having meaningful conversations with them and interactions.
