  • Participate in the Women’s Soaring Seminar held annually.
  • Compete for the Anne Morrow Lindbergh Trophy for the longest handicapped cross-country flight of the year.
  • Compete for the Virginia Schweizer Trophy for the best performance by a woman pilot at the 1-26 Championships.
  • Apply for Members-Only Scholarships:
    • Sky Ghost Scholarship:  $500 for a student glider pilot under the age of 25
    • Flying Montagues Scholarship:  $500 for a student glider pilot or a licensed glider pilot to attend the Women’s Soaring Seminar
    • Briegleb Scholarship:  $500 for a student glider pilot or a licensed glider pilot for flight costs incurred during the seminar; applicants may be working toward a Private, Commercial or CFI-G rating
    • Maria Faber Scholarship:  $500 for a licensed glider pilot seeking advanced training, additional glider ratings or a towplane endorsement for use at any gliderport in any country
    • WSPA Competition Scholarship:  $500 to a woman who competes in a regional or national SSA sanctioned competition; the US pilots only
    • Full membership is open to any woman holding a student glider rating or higher.  Associate membership is open to everyone else.
